Precision Acoustics has supplied some HIFU transducers for use in medical research. These 60mm transducers with centre frequency at 1.09MHz were capable of producing acoustics powers above 85W. They had a focal length of 72mm and combined with a focal area of less than 5mm2 produced focal intensities in excess of 1700 W/cm2
