Description
Aptflex F7 is a highly flexible, high performance encapsulation material, exhibiting excellent hydrolytic stability and an acoustic wave speed and acoustic impedance similar to that of fresh water. It also has the lowest insertion loss and absorption of all encapsulants from Precision Acoustic Ltd
These properties make Aptflex F7 an ideal system for hydrophone windows, marine encapsulation applications or as strain reliefs around cable glands and cable repairs.
It is particularly useful where small, delicate components are being potted since the material exhibits low shrinkage and hence stress during the cure phase. The high flexibility means that F7 is not as tough and durable as other encapsulants
Key Features
- Flexibility and resistance to temperature extremes of -50°C to 100°C
- Low moisture sensitivity during the cure phase
- Excellent hydrolytic stability
